Lot 1633
PHOENICIA. Byblos, 2nd-1st centuries BC. Weight of 1/2 Mina (Hemimnaion) (Lead, 81x85 mm, 379.52 g, 12 h). [H-M] (?) Two crossed cornucopiae with crown of Isis between. Rev. Blank except for a lead inlay in the form of a seashell. Pondera 17320. Very fine.

The exciting thing about this weight is the lead 'seal' that was added afterwards. It was likely added for weight adjustment and shaped using a seashell that was pressed into the heated lead.
